In Rome, just after the edict of Milan in 313 AD, an early Christian sculptor finds himself commissioned to create a statue for a newly built cathedral. Struggling with the memories of persecution and his loyalty to the traditional deities of his ancestors, he must come to terms with his past and his new faith as he carves.
